Come with your apples (and bottles) and get them juiced!

Here’s how it works

Bring along apples and bottles

  • Bring as many undamaged apples as you want to juice. We can’t juice bruised or damaged fruit but funny looking fruit is fine! We’ll give the apples a quick wash but if you have time to wash them in advance, that will help.
  • Bring bottles or other containers with lids, to take your juice home with you.

What happens on the day

  • When it’s your turn, we’ll weigh the apples, give them a quick dunk in some water then send them in to the “scratter,” to turn them in to pulp.
  • After that it’s bottles at the ready as we turn the pulp into juice.
  • We’ll measure what we juice, and it costs 50p litre. We’ll pour the juice into your containers. to take home.
  • You can also take some pulp home for the compost heap if you’d like to.

The juice isn’t pasteurised, so you need to keep it in the fridge and drink it in a couple of days. Or you can pasteurise it at home easily. We’ll have leaflets on how to do that on the day.

The day is organized by Cwm Arian Renewable Energy, who (among several other wonderful projects) run a travelling juicing service that visits different parts of Pembrokeshire.
