The story of the traditional working water mill in St Dogmaels where stoneground flour is produced, told by the miller herself.

There are records of the mill dating from the 1640s, but the millpond and mill have likely been there since the Abbey was built in the 12th century.
The mill went out of use in the 1920s and the pond was filled with rubble. The site narrowly escaped having bungalows built on it. But in 1979, Michael and Jane Hall bought the mill, refilled the pond, and restored it to its original working state. The mechanism is entirely powered from the mill pond opposite the Abbey. Their daughter Emma now runs the mill.
The range of flours produced at the mill is a favourite with many in St Dogmaels.
